Curtain Poles
Choosing the right length pole for your window couldn't be easier.
Take all measurements to the nearest centimetre. Don’t worry if your measurements are in inches as you can use the conversion table at the bottom of this page to convert to centimetres.
If you have an existing curtain rail, which you are replacing then measuring the length of this will give you the correct length for your new pole.
For other windows measure the inside recess width of the window (see the diagram above).
Add at least 15cm ( 6” ) each side i.e. 30cm ( 12” ) in total.
Write the measurement total down and then you can start shopping right away.
When choosing a fixed length pole, if you are unsure as to which length pole to opt for, then always choose the longer length as you can always be cut down.
When choosing a telescopic/extendable pole you should simple make sure that your required length lies within the range of the extenable pole set.
Notes:All pole measurements are that of the pole only, on which the curtain rings can travel.
The lengths of the finials are over and above the pole length quoted.
For fixed length poles, the longer lengths will be sold in two pieces that adjoin with a central bracket (supplied).
Made To Measure Curtain Poles
Choosing the right length pole for your window couldn't be easier.
Take all measurements to the nearest centimetre. Just measure the window recess and we will do the rest. Write your measurement down and enter the measurement after your product selection to see the quoted price.
For other windows repeat the process (see the diagram above).
Write these measurements down and then you can start shopping right away.
N.B. When you have measured the recess width, check that there is sufficient free space to take the fully assembled rail each side of the recess. The minimum required each side is 31 cm. for recess widths up 116cm. and 36 cm. for recess widths over 116 cm.
Should you not have sufficient free space on one or both sides, e.g. because the recess is too close to a corner of the room, then give us details by calling us on 0845 603 3228 or contact us here. We can then further tailor the pole to fit your particular circumstances.
