WHY is Silksmooth the obvious choice ?

We are often asked why some retailers are so much more expensive than ourselves. In short, our competitors rely on outdated and expensive distribution networks which means that you, the customer, are lumbered with an exhorbitant price.

We have also been asked about light sensors. We have taken a good look at those currently offered in the market and have found them to be most unreliable. It is apparent that those retailers offering light sensors also view them as unreliable as they are unwilling to offer the light sensor feature without electronic timer back up.

In any case, we believe a lack of reliability is not acceptable in what, after all, is sold as a "home safety" feature and as a consequence, we choose not to offer this feature at this time. For the time being therefore we feel it best to offer a reliable electronic timer and keep the price you pay to a minimum.

FEATURES		• The REMOTE CONTROL can operate up to 8 curtain tracks, by using 8 preset frequency settings to send signals to separate receivers in each track’s motor/control unit. Any curtain can be easily opened or closed fully, or stopped in any intermediary position. When the curtains come to a stop position the motor automatically cuts out within 2 seconds.
		• The TIMER can be programmed to give up to 10 separate opening settings and 10 closing settings. These settings can be for any time of day or night AND also for any of 15 day, or combination of day, settings. You could, for example, set the timer to open at 7am and close at 8pm, from Monday to Friday and open at 9am and close at 8pm, at weekends. The practice of programming lighting to discourage intruders, when you are away from home, is now a well established security practice. You can now achieve even more effective security, by programming our TIMER to open and close your curtains.
		• The MADE TO MEASURE track is constructed from aluminium and steel for strength and durability. The runners have wheels, giving a very smooth action. The tracks can be custom made up to 463cm long. Just indicate your required length in the window above to find the price, including VAT and delivery, to your home address. Your track can then be supplied to exactly fit your window with a satisfying, professional result.
		• BRACKETS are supplied for either wall or ceiling mounting of the track and these have quick, snap fittings for easy, secure attachment.
		• The long life MOTOR is fitted with an automatic clutch, which disengages it from the track mechanism when not in use. This enables the curtains to be opened or closed manually in the event of a power failure.
		• The motor and all the controls operate on low voltage DC CURRENT, so are intrinsically safe. The DC current is supplied by a safety approved transformer, which plugs into a standard mains socket, so no wiring is required. The motor and the attached controls are completely concealed behind the curtain, making the installation particularly neat and easy.
DETERMINING THE REQUIRED LENGTH OF TRACK AND PRICE
• Measure the width of the window and decide how much track you want either side to store the curtains when opened. If this, for example, were 20cm then the length of the track to be ordered would be the window width in cm plus 2 x 20cm. • If the track is required to fit in an existing restricted space, such as within a pelmet, then 3cm clearance should be allowed, at the motor end of the track, to give access to the adjustment screw. • If the track is a straight replacement for an existing track, then use the existing track length, less the 3cm. clearance, if needed. • Simply enter the track length in the box provided to obtain the price, including VAT and delivery, to your address.
